What are Aardvarks?
Aardvarks, a special mammal from Africa, use chisels and sticky tongue for prey. They occupy a unique order and a species because they have strange teeth from Dentin instead of enamel. As a prehistoric rest, Aardvarks often wrongly mistaken as antiteaters. They also have hind legs similar to rabbits that are used to stretch more than walks, and agile front legs equipped with specialized claws that dig up burrows and cancel the termit hills. Their long tail similar to rodents, which stretches to one third of their total length, helps clean dirt and balance the animal in a jump like a kangaroo. The ears of the ears, upright and large, allow them to hear the scratching of insect legs. It is no wonder with this Mishmash from various features of the animal that the Boers in South Africa appointed Aardvark "Earth Pig" in African.
Aardvarks wander through the diversity, wherever the country is soft enough to dig and thermites abundant enough to find. They are found across mostly Central and South Africa in the plackEmpering, bushes, forests, peeling and savannah. While mostly lonely, they meet mating during the season. Mothers keep their offspring close to two years when they occupy neighboring burrows. These burrows are cozy and large, including several entrances and different rooms.
Their diet consists mainly of termites, complemented by ants and other insects. A long, flexible tongue has evolved sticky saliva to capture many insects at the same time when they dive into a thermit or rotting protocol. Night Ardvarks usually hunt at night because of their colors. Nevertheless, they are threatened by large cats such as leopards and lions, as well as hyenas, snakes and of course humans. It measures around 6.5 ft (2 m) and weighs £ 80-140 (£ 36-64 kg).
Perhaps the strangest characteristics of Aardvarks is their unique teeth structure. They use stools to crush the hard exoskeleton of insects for easier digestion. Teeth are made of hexagonal pipesEC hard material called dentine. All other animals with this type of teeth, called primitive ungulates, were extinct 35 million years ago. This qualifies Aardvarks as its own order, tubulidentata , as well as a unique species, orycteropus afference . Elephants are more closely associated with Aardvarks than anteatters.
