What is chinchilla?
Chin -off is rodents originally from the Andes Mountains in South America. His name comes from the Chinch tribe of the native South Americans. Chinchas was wearing the animal's hair and the introduction of Chinchillas into the western world in 1500s is credited. Chinchilla is attractive, which explains his popularity as a pet. It looks like a little rabbit with ears and a long furry tail or like a squirrel with extra large ears.
Despite their attraction, since 1500-1900, in their natural habitat, Chinchillas was almost extinct due to excessive hunting and capturing. Together with Chinchy, the inhabitants of the West were in love with the remarkable thickness of their fur. The activities have the highest density of fur any ground mammal.
These creatures were long (0.30 m) rescued from extinction partly Mathias Chapman in 1923, when he brought eleven chinchillas captured in nature. The Chilean government also recorded the extinction of the animal and created laws that protect it. ChapMan's efforts eventually made enough chinchil to offer them as pets. At the age of 60 they gained great popularity as pets and thanks to several South American governments this species recovered in the wild.
In its natural environment, the light gray Chinchilla is his home in rock slits or burrows. Chinchilla has to use such cold places as a home because it cannot sweat and may suffer from death. Due to the different temperatures of the Andes range, the animal's digging adaptation makes a lot of sense.
Chinchilla is a fantastic sweater that is able to jump about five feet (1.52 m) in the air. The species is omnipotent, eat insects, seeds, fruit and berries. Due to its relatively small size, Chinchilla is a natural prey for cats, skunks, dogs and hawks.
chinchillas take dirt or baths ash once a day to clean their coats, and these substances are sufficiently secured intheir habitat. Chinchilly avoids traditional wet bathing, probably as an instinct of survival. Moisture remains in its coats and can cause mushroom development like worm. Unlike other rodents, however, the thickness of charn fur should prevent infestation of flea.
In the wild, Chinchilla remains one of the few monogamous species, and unlike most mammals, women tend to be slightly larger than men. Animals share burrows in pairs, but also resides in a larger colony that helps to protect the entire group. They have no reproduction period, but pregnancy is relatively long for rodents, slightly less than four months.
Litters have an average of two children (sets), but the mother may have up to seven. Due to the length of pregnancy, the sets are born fully hair and are capable of sight. They can live up to 20 years, although the diameter of the fifths to 10.
Pet Chinchilla will probably have a longer life expectancy if it is taken care of. Chinchilly, however, are nightly, and it mayBit Problems for those who appreciate their sleep at night, because animals can cricket and bark quite loud. Chinchilly, which are kept in captivity, also show many other color brands than traditional gray. Red, salt and pepper, purple and black are general colors. Pure white chinchilly, which do not have a recessive gene for a different color, are not generally viable.
Chinchilla loves chewing and must therefore be kept in a cage to prevent chewing on furniture or electric wires. It must also be provided things you can chew. Because chewing is, as it examines, it will chew new owners. Chinchilla can be trained, with great patience to make simple tricks, but cannot be trained.
An important point of view in the ownership of chinchillas is whether its cage can be kept in a troom-regulated room. If a person lives in hot climate and does not have air conditioning, only buy cage with controlled temperature. Also, while a few of the same sex can harmoniouslyLiving together, due to sufficient space, bringing one woman and two male chinchili into the same cage, he will lead to constant territorial battles over a woman.
There are many websites and books that provide information for one purchase of Chinchilly because of the popularity of the pet. These rodents require more adaptations and closer observations than other species. However, the owners quote their cute appearance as a great incentive to take special care they can require.
