What is coati?
Coati is a relative of raccoon, found mainly in Mexico, Central and South America. However, this animal is now often observed in Texas and Arizona, because at some point it crossed the limit of Mexico. Because they are good to find food, their introduction to the US can eventually lead to populations across the US, where the climate is mild.
There are several types: ring tail, white and island. An animal called the dwarf mountains comes from a different genus than the family NASUA , to which three species belong. The physical differences between these three recognized species are not significant.
The differences include lighter or darker tires and marked on the tail and face. White worn coats have a characteristic elongated black nose, but its snout is white, hence the term. Most often we are an American immigrant Coatis from the white nose variety, which tends to resemble Ton Raccoon. His coat is reddish and has a striped black story. The mouth and nose are much longer and the tail is also significantly long than a short bushy storyraccoon. However, they both like to eat insects and fruits and solve problems well. As far as food is concerned, Cate prefers mainly insects as food, while the raccoon is known for attack on garbage and consumes small rodents.
Maybe one of the reasons why Coati has been successfully transferred to the US is the fact that they are primarily daily and do most of their hunting and feeding during the day. Moncoon, on the other hand, is night. So both species have little chance of knocking each other.
Coati may vary depending on the type, but adults tend to weigh about £ 16 (7.26 kg). Zocas is approximately 4 feet (1.21 m). About half of this measurement is the length of the tail. The size of the body is equivalent to a reasonably large domestic cat.
A woman tends to live in groups of up to 30 members. Males are lonely, on the other hand they enter the group only for mating. Sexually mature females tend to behave once a year and have two toFive offspring. Typical pregnancy takes about two months. The woman raises her young people for the first two years. A woman of offspring usually joins a group or group to which the mother belongs to. Men are encouraged to leave.
In captivity can and Coati can live up to 15 years, but in the wild they tend to have a shorter life. Usually predators like Cougar, Jaguar and Panther consider prey. Although the animal can often be found on the basis of insect rooting, it tends to produce nests in trees for themselves and its young to avoid vision of large cats.
Coatis seems to be fearless and some inhabitants of South America keep them as pets. Like their raccoon cousins, they can never be fully considered tame and it is really best to leave them in their natural environment. A wild coat should never be approached, just like a raccoon, they can be unpredictable, their bite is sharp and vulnerable to rabies.
While both circular and bThe white, white, are well promoted despite the interventions on their habitat, the island, living exclusively on Cozumel, an island off the coast of Mexico, is classified as endangered. In the population of the island they do not have animals that lose their habitat, where to go. This led to a significant decline in number. The World Foundation Foundation is currently working to create a protected area for the island's population, so its numbers can be restored.
