What is a big white shark?

The large white shark is one of the largest predatory sharks living today and is considered an endangered species. It is carnivorous, but unlike folk opinion, it does not look for people to attack. His fearsome reputation came mainly in the twentieth century, with events such as attacking sharks in New Jersey in 1916, and potting USS Indianapolis in 1945, when many crews ate sharks for days. Although it shares many characteristics with other sharks, large white is a mystery for scientists because no one has been able to keep alive in captivity for a long time.

The color of a large white shark is useful for camouflage: the white belly is hard to see from below and gray or brown back makes it difficult to see from the surface. In maturity, the shark is usually about 13 to 17 feet (4 to 5 meters) and weighs more than 1 tonnes (about 900 kilograms). Great white can grow to 2 length 0 feet (6.1 meters), but there is a discussion about how big a shark can actually get. Have been stored as a claim of large white measuring to36 feet (11 meters), but modern scientists question the accuracy of these measurements.

Perhaps the best known feature of the shark is its jaws. His Latin name, Carcharodon Carcharias means a "ragged tooth". In his gums, several rows of serrated teeth grow; New ones appear to replace the lost. Great white shark does not register food, but bites and tear the pieces of its prey. Its bite can produce more than one ton (about 900 kilograms) of the pressure per square inch (6.5 square centimeters).

Although most sharks are cold, large white is warm bleed, which means that it can live in slightly colder waters. It is often seen along the coast, such as Australia, South Africa and America. Some great white migrates in winter to an area in the Pacific Ocean between California and Hawaii, now called White Shark Cafe, but the purpose of the journey is still unclear for scientists who study animalsand.

Its presence along the coast is associated with the preferred diet of seals and sea lions, even if it eats fish, dolphins, whales and other sharks. The large white shark sails on the prey from below and bites to pollute the creation. This increase from below can expel a shark from the water, as can be seen in white sharks from South Africa. The shark may retreat to let the prey bleed and weaken before returning to food, or the shark can withdraw the creatures down until it stops fighting.

Big white is one of the four types of sharks that are responsible for most of the attacks on sharks, but very few of all shark attacks are fatal - less than five each year. Although they are known as "man", large white often bite simply to determine whether the subject is food. Somvionians speculate that the silhouette of surfers on their legs with their feet and powdery mildews is reminiscent of the shape of the seals, and therefore some surfers are bitten.

The twentieth century gave rise to a bad reputation of a large white shark. SLostmi, such as shark attacks on the New Jersey coast in 1916, U.S.S. The incident Indianapolis in 1945 and the so -called "Shark Summer" in 2001, public perception and dislike for sharks grew constantly over the centuries. Great white is often a shark associated with attacks, although it is not always a culprit. Views in popular books and film help to stimulate the false idea that sharks will deliberately go after people.

The

International Union for Nature Conservation is currently mentioning a large white shark as endangered. Sharks have never been successfully kept in captivity or even maintained in the aquarium for more than six months. While some sharks are randomly killed, the big Number are hunted for their fins that are used to make Shark's Fin soups, expensive delicacies. Given that large white are predators of peak, shrinking numbers could have the ripple on a number of ecosystems in the sea.
