What is the shadow?
Shad, also known as the Slying River, is a type of fish in the family alosa . They come from North America and can live in salt water or fresh water. There are many different types, including American Shad and The Gizzard Shad.
Many varieties of this fish include an American, Gizzard, Threadfin and Hickory Shad, as well as Blueback Herring and Shipjack. Some of these fish live in the ocean while others live in fresh or brackish waters. Various varieties can be found in the oceans around North America and in many North American rivers. Some varieties are not good to eat and are mainly used for sport fishing and then release.
Many, though not all, the shadow varieties are Androme. This means that they spend most of their life in the ocean, but once a year they return to the fresh water river to form. It is not uncommon for these fish to return to the river every year where they were born. Depending on the NAN region, friction may occur as early as November, warm climate or late in JulyI, in a colder climate such as Canada.
American shadow is the largest variety and usually reaches a length of 20-24 inches (50,8-60,96 centimeters). However, it was known to be up to 30 inches (76.2 centimeters). These fish are silver with dark spots on their sides and on their underside. The mouth closes in the shape of "V" and the lower jaw does not exceed its upper jaw. The American shadow is also known as white, ordinary or Atlantic shadow and is a popular fish for cooking and eating.
Gizzard shadow is located in the eastern North American rivers. Unlike Andromous American Shad, Shad Gizzard lives in rivers and tanks all year round. These fish are not considered good to eat, but are caught for sport and are used as a bait for other types of fish. Typically these fish grow between 9-14 inches (22,86-35,56 centimeters), although they can reach 20 inches (50.8 centimeters) and rarely exceed3 pounds (1.36 kilograms). Their scales are at the top and the top are white, but on the sides and underside are white.
Historically, Shad was a very popular fish for commercial reasons for sport. Over time, however, their number in North America has fallen significantly. The reason is mainly human adjustments of their habitat. The dams block the ability of fish to swim yourself and water pollution has also prevented friction. They are also at risk of excessive fishing.
