What is velodrome?
There are several categories of racing styles in the world of cycling. One of the lesser-known styles is Track Racing, a team or individual event in which competitors run on a solid Gear-or non-moving-round without brake on an oval track called velodrom. Velodrome is usually made of wood and increases the corners to adapt to the high speed of the racer in sharp corners; They can be built as outdoor or indoor tracks. In recent years, the tracking races and subsequently the velodrome have become the most photograph, the most popular events take place at the Olympics. There are less than thirty velodromes in the United States, but are more numerous throughout Europe and other parts of the world.
Velodrome is usually designed from wooden strips. In the case of outdoor tracks, building materials may differ against the elements. Concrete and synthetic velodromes have become more common in recent years, but expensive forests are also used, which may be responsible for changing moisture in the air. For internal tracks, there may be pine orOther cheaper forests used for the construction of the velodrome because the track will not be exposed to elements. Like the car track for cars, the velodrome contains infield in the middle of the track, which is considered to be a border during the race.
Velodrome contains banking horns to work with inertia forces acting on cyclists when it turns around the track. This allows cyclists to keep their bikes perpendicular to the track at high speeds over the corner and transfer this power straight. This also reduces the likelihood of wheel tires to lose enough contact with the track to keep the wheels vertical. The corners can be banked by 27 degrees or more to match the speed of the cyclist again.
It is not unusual to see that velodrome is used for other purposes except cycling. Human vehicle testing and races (HPV) are common, as well as events in in-line speed skating. Velodrome size will vary depending onTheness of the space in which it is built, and usually turns from banked people as soon as the track is shortened. A typical velodrome may vary in size between 250 and 500 meters, and banking corners can range from 25 degrees to 45 degrees.
