What is aloe extract?

Aloe extract can refer to two Aloe Vera products. One type of aloe extract is a gel that is excreted from broken leaves of the plant. The second type, also called aloe juice, is a latex that comes from the inner surface of aloe leaves. Aloe gel has a wide range of topical uses for smaller skin conditions such as burning and small cuts, while aloe juice is sold oral nutritional supplement. It has large, strong leaves similar to swords with serrated edges and can grow up to 39 inches (99 cm) high. Older plants may have yellow or orange flowers. There are many varieties of aloe, but it is assumed that only aloe vera or true aloe have healing properties. Its use as a medicinal plant in traditional medicine dates for thousands of years.

Aloe latex extract is a yellow juice or a sap that is derived from aloe leaves. The juice is usually dried after extraction to form crystals that are sold as tablets or food supplements. Active ingredients in Aloe latex are anthrocinone glycosides that function as digestive katartics. Aloe latex is most often used as moderate laxatives and can be found in some over -the -counter medicines.

The use of aloe extract as a skin treatment and laxatives well established, but many other demands on the benefits of the plant, including cancer prevention and treatment, is largely unfounded. While early studiesThey suggest that aloe extract can be useful in more serious skin diseases such as psoriasis and genital herpes, more research is needed for convincing evidence.
