What is Fire Coral?

Fire Coral is a marine organism in the Milliporidae family, which is remarkable with its stinging cells that can cause persistent pain to organisms - such as disgusting divers - that come into contact with Fire Coral. Fire corals appear in tropical and subtropical waters around the world and can be particularly dangerous to divers because they appear in various forms. Corals and fiery corals are in the same phylum, Cnidaria, so they are distant relatives, but in fact they are radically different organisms. Fire Coral is part of the creatures known as Hydrozoans, more related to jellyfish than real corals.

However, fires share some features with real corals. Polyps can also start creating Medusas, freely swimming versions of polyps that are capable of sexual reproductions. When Medusas is reproduced, their offspring can create new colonies of fire.

Fire Coral can move in color from yellow to brown and has various forms. Sometimes it takes over, creates a bark on the upper rock and real corals and can also grow in the form of similar plates and finely branched forms.In an occasional view, Fire Coral often looks like seaweed, so divers can accidentally touch or swim through it without realizing the danger. The fire coral is also very hard and is able to cut the skin and harmful diving suits. People who are cutting the corals should seek medical care because it may be necessary to clean the wound to prevent infection, and remove all painful stinging cells injected by defensive polyps.
