What is Babel's tower?

The Babel tower is a structure referred to in chapter 11 of the Genesis book in the Bible. His story is often told as a parable to pass on lessons such as humility and modesty. Sometimes it is also taken to literal value and is used to explain the presence of multiple languages in the world.

The story of the tower Babel tells us that at the beginning people had only one language. Everyone in the world was able to understand all the others, which resulted in peace and harmony around the world. But the time came when human pride began to get the best. The men agreed that when they grew so much in intelligence and grace, it was probably in their power to build a tower that would reach the sky itself. And so the united humanity began to build on the building so high that it would touch the sky. It was supposed to be the tower of Babel. They were Attempting into a suitable heaven for themselves and make straight with God. So to teach them the lesson, God confused their tongue and began to speak different languages. Followed by chaos and confusion and brought with that misunderstanding anddistrust. Anger came with that and soon humanity fell into disagreement and scattered on the ground.

Some Bible scholars point out that the Babel Tower is probably a commentary or a response to Ziggurats, which were designed by ancient Mesopotamians as literal stairs to heaven. Ziggurati tend to tend to the Mesopotam valley somewhat intimidating during that time; In fact, they are some of the largest religious buildings ever built. It is said that Ziggurat resembles an ordinary pyrmaid, with a ever -decreasing level, the higher it increased.

The Babel Tower was not expressly destroyed in the book. However, he is brought up again in the book Jubilees, an ancient Jewish work, which states that God destroyed him with a strong gust of wind.
