What is toastmasters?

ToastMasters International, often simply known as "ToastMasters", is a global non -profit organization that helps people develop communication, management and skills of public expression through their local member clubs. Toastmasters evolved from a single club. This club is now known as SMEDLEY CLUB NUMBER 1, founded by Ralph C. Smedley 22 October 1924 and took place in Santa Ana YMCA in California. ToastMasters International became incorporated 19 December 1932. There are currently more than 11,500 toastmasters clubs in more than 90 countries, most of them in the United States and Canada. Local clubs can have anywhere from six to 40 members and can meet every week, two -week or month. At club meetings, members practice public manifestations and offer each other feedback. With the exception of paid staff about 60 at the World headquarters, you are operated exclusively by volunteers.over 18 years. Women were first admitted to the toastmasters clubs in 1973. In rare cases, people under 18 are admitted, although they do not have to officially join until their 18th birthday. Toastmasters sponsor groups that help teach communication and leadership skills even to those under 18 years of age. The main clubs focus on teenagers, while the eight -member youth management program is designed for younger school children.

In some cases, toastmasters clubs may have limited membership, but only under certain conditions. Membership in the club can be limited to members of the company or to those who have already proceeded at the toastmasters above a certain level. Any restrictions on gender, ethnicity, nationality or similar criteria are not allowed.

Toastmasters meetings are at least an hour for a long time and can be up to two Hours. Each meeting has three main parts: prepared manifestations; TabULEK, in which members gain the practice of talking about previous unknown topics; and assessment. Every meeting is done to the toastmaster of the day or evening. The evaluation is led by a general evaluator who calls for individual evaluators to assess the prepared and extemporary manifestations.

Help messages are another part of the toastmaster rating. There are three helpers: a grammar who follows grammatical mistakes, unpleasant phrases, incorrect expression and sometimes positive use of the language; Ah-grid, which calculates every instance of "ah", "um" and similar fillings of space in the speech of a member; and a timer that time response of each speech, evaluation and table.

Toastmasters offers two educational compositions, communication and leadership. After both songs, the member received the title Distinguished ToastMaster. New members receive projects with projects that must be completed in order to proceed over the level in each track. The communication track has four levels: Communicator (CC), Advanced Communicator (AC) bronze, silver silver and silver gold. Leadership Track has three levels: Competent Leader (CL), Advanced Leader (Al) Bronze and Al Silver.

While most toastmasters are held at the club level, there are also at least four events at the district level annually, annual regional conferences and annual international conferences. At regional and international conferences, the awards are awarded to clubs and individuals. At the international conference there is also an international competition tostmasters international speech competition, the only toastmasters competition that proceeds around the district level.
