What Are Mossy Fibers?
Mossy fiber is originated from spinal cord, vestibular nucleus, pontine nucleus, lateral reticular nucleus, etc., and is the main afferent system of the cerebellum. The fibers are thick, and they are divided into several branches in the white matter to form a mossy-like terminal at the end of the granular layer, forming synaptic connections with the claw dendrites of the granular cells and the axons of the Golgi cell.
