What is acromioclavicular ligament?

Acromioclavicular liga is a strip of fibrous connective tissue connecting the acromion of the shoulder blade with a collar or collar bone on acromioclavicular (AC) joint. In fact, two links known as excellent acromioclavicular ligament and lower acromioclavicular ligament, encapsulate and stabilizes the joint and holds the bones together. It is this stabilization that allows you to raise your arms above the head. with fibers that move longitudinally between the two bones, the superior acromioclavicular vasr is larger and wider than the lower ligament. On the upper surface it is continuous with the aponeurosis of trapezoids and deltooid muscles of the upper back and shoulder. Aponeurosis is a white tendon similar to tendons that surround each muscle and attach it to the joint that crosses, made of fibrous substance difference from binding. Below the upper ligament is a joint capsule, which contains synovial fluid and a disc, which will smear the joint and flying adjacent bony surfaces.

The lower acromioclavicular liga is located just below the articular capsule, separated from it by a double membrane. Below the lower ligament is the tendon supraspinatus, which is horizontally below the acromion process and over the upper part of the humerus bone, where it connects in the mountainspart of the arm. Supraspinatus is the highest muscle of the rotator cuff and participates in lifting the arm above the head while stabilizing the shoulder joint.
