What is the femoral triangle?
femoral triangle, also referred to as Scarpa's triangle or, more often weaknesses, is a triangular space located in the upper thigh. When the thigh is bent on the hip joint, the femoral triangle is created as depression under a three -foot ligament. It is also bounded by Sartorius muscle and ADUCTOR Longus muscle on both sides. This muscle is clinically important due to the fact that it contains important nerves, arteries and veins.
Three muscles primarily define the boundaries of the femoral triangle. The excellent aspect of the femoral triangle is defined by an inguinal ligament. The closest to the middle line of the body is the media aspect, defined by the muscle of the Aductor Longus. The part of the most distant from the middle line, which is the most distant triangle, the femoral triangle defined by the Sartorius muscle, which is also commonly referred to as the muscles tailored. It consists of three muscles: Iliopsoas, Pectineus and Aductor Longus. Ilopsoas and pectineus overlap and create the shape of the gutter.
The top or roof of the triangle is a fascia Lata. Fascia is a layer of fibrous tissue and, in the case of the femur, is referred to as deep fascia or fascia Lata in Latin. Deep fascia surrounds individual muscles and creates compartments by division of muscle groups.
Femoral triangle is easy access to doctors to nerves, arteries and ligaments. Both femoral vein and nerve and femoral artery are placed in the triangle. It is easily accessible and because the vein and artery are relatively large, they can be easily pierced. This is useful in the event of damage to the area or if it is necessary to pierce the medical procedure. Pressing pressure on points in the triungle can help stop the bleeding of the foot and is also a good place to behave femoral pulse.
It is easy to remember the anatomy of the femoral triangle using some mnemonic devices. Muscles that borders with a triangle can beBuild a "sail" that means Sartorius, Aductor Longus and Class. This can be given with mnemonics for nerves, artery, vein and ligament. When it is fine, laterally medially, the navel is reported. "E" means "empty" and "l" means ligament or lymph, referring to deep classes of lymph nodes, which are also part of the femoral triangle.
