What is ischium?

ischium forms the lower part of the hip bone, known as the axae os . The bones sit directly below acetabul . Hypical bones help provide support for the movement of the lower spine and helping the upper leg. The bone body extends towards the acetabulum. Superior Ramus goes down and towards the back of the body. The lower ramus is a thin flat piece of bone, which connects to the ischiu to the pubis, the lower central part of the hip bones.

ischium absorbs the great weight of the human body when a person sits down. Although it usually does not cause problems, some people experience bone pain while sitting for a longer period of time, especially if the hips or pelvis have suffered injuries. Ischia pain is usually felt at the bottom of the buttocks or in the muscles of the hamstrings along the back of the thigh.weaver's lower part is one of the most common types of bone pain in ischiu. This situation is most common in cyclists, runners and football players. Usually develops over time because the muscles of hamstring and other ties pull on the ischialtuberosity or to a wide part of the front of Ischia. Sudden trauma or injury may also be responsible for the beginning of such pain.

Most of the time, rest and icing of the injured hip and the use of anti -inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen, is sufficient to treat ischial tuberosity. Patients with pain that persists for several weeks or the results of serious injury may receive cortisone injections to master swelling and pain. Physical therapy can also help strengthen the area after injury.

Ischia fracture is rare, although it can lead to severe pain and long phase of treatment and recovery. Avulsion Fractures are the most common types that affect ischium, and usually occur in young athletes. These breaks occur when part of the bone is towed from the main bone, usually due to the closure of the tendon or ligament.

fractures of ischial tuberosity are usually treated with physical therapy andmedication to reduce swelling and pain. Athletic activity is generally limited to several months, while the fracture heals. If the bone is towed more than a few centimeters of its origin, the orthopedic surgeon can repair the fracture or move the broken bones from all growth plates that could damage it.
