What is the pharynx?

Pharynx is a medical term for the neck. It is part of both the digestive system and in the respiratory system and is a direct passage to enter the lungs and meals to enter the stomach. HRK is designed to allow people to breathe or swallow food by the same passage without disturbing the body. Speech and other vocalizations are possible because the vocal cords are located in the pharynx. Nosopharynx is at the base of the skull next to the upper surface of the soft palate and is most important for the digestive system and the respiratory system. In this area you can find almonds of pharynx. It is a mass of lymphoid tissue commonly known as adenoid.

Oropharynx extends from uvula to epiglottis, a tissue flap that prevents food from entering the lungs during swallowing. It allows food and air to go through the body using epiglottis.

Larynopharynx connects to the esophagus. This part of the neck turns away food into the stomach temporary blocking the air passage. When this happens, it prevents the body from suffocating or aspiration. This part of the pharynx is near the fourth and sixthHo the cervix.

In general, the sore of the throat is called pharyngitis and is an infection and inflammation of the pharynx. A medical expert uses a tongue depression to explore the neck for infection or other abnormalities. Infections are common because food and air pass through this area. When almonds are infected many times, they can be removed to prevent future infections.

Nalopharyngeal carcinoma is cancer at the top of the neck. It is usually not found until it is metastasized to other parts of the body. This type of neck cancer is vu.s.

The vocal cords are in the pharynx and are what allows speech and other sounds. When the air moves through voice cords and they intersect over the other, they create sounds. The human voice gives people the ability to communicate with each other, and most people have the ability to speak, sing, laughter or scream.

Although the pharynx is simply a neck, it has one of the most important tasks in the human body. ATIt allows the body to breathe oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. The HRK allows the food to enter the stomach to provide the body with nutrition without suffocation or aspiration.
