What is an optical circulation?

The

device used in optical communication systems is created by an optical circular to pass light from one optical fiber to another. Movement occurs in the same direction in which the light travels, from the first port to the second or second to the third port. Most of these devices have three ports and incoming light rays cannot return to other ports, which means that the device is not reciprocal. These optical devices are used to pass the light from one -way to communication connections of duplex fibers as well as in optical test instruments, such as optical reflectors in the time domain. Usually there is a certain loss of light energy in the insulator, but the circulator points all light to the output port and to the next optical fiber. Optical circulators usually have three ports, but many applications require only two, so they can be created to block any light that hits the third port.

When an optical circulation is used in the communication system, engineers do not have to use a number of transmitters, receivers and amplifiers that would otherwise be necessary. It is a more expensive part, but fewer parts are needed and the optical government infrastructure also ends easier and more reliable. If necessary, the circulation, transmitter and receiver can be installed into the same device.

Systems with insulators and rays tend to discharge part of the energy. However, the optical circulator is an effective means of transmitting a light signal and increases the construction of communication systems more economical.
