What is Sync®?
SYNC® is a communication and entertainment system installed in Ford, Lincoln and Mercury. The system is a voice -activated technology system in a car designed by Microsoft, which allows users to use tools available in their mobile phones and digital media players in the vehicle itself. Microsoft Sync® was first introduced in 12 models starting in the 2008 model year. The system then registers the device and provides the user with access to computer files, whether MP3 or other formats and ability to play music. Regarding mobile phone devices, a list of contacts, a calendar, and other tools are synchronized with a computer system, allowing users to call or check the Hands-free data.
Interaction with SYNC® is processed in one of the dual -effects: either voice activation or manually. Located on the steering wheel of cars equipped with Sync® system, there is an activation panel that allows the STI drivers to driveGentle button and talk to the system and change songs or make phone calls. Other interactive abilities are placed on radio controls that provide one to a number of their mobile devices.
Microsoft Sync® has been developed specifically for a range of Ford Motor Company vehicles. He was first introduced to the North American International Automobile Show at the beginning of 2007 by President and CEO of Ford, Alan Mulally and Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates, who appeared through the satellite. Car technology is based on data synchronization software developed by Microsoft to connect various operating platforms, especially those that include sharing metadata and peer-to-peer.
Some of the other Ford Sync® features include the ability to provide operation and navigation navigation, call 911 and report the vehicle's health status, jAKO is oil pressure and temperature. One of the most popular features according to Ford itself is the ability of the system to process text messages. The Sync® system can interpret text messages sent to a person's mobile phone and read them back to the driver or passenger using a female voice by designers called "Samantha". In addition, because the service is designed for the full area of North America, it is able to cooperate with Canadian French and Mexican Spanish dialects and English.
