What is a Business Day?
Working Day / Workday is also called working day, which refers to the length (hours) of working hours of employees during the day and night. The working day is the working time in days. Article 36 of the Labor Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates: "The state implements a system of working hours where workers work no more than eight hours a day and the average weekly work time does not exceed 44 hours."

- After the new document was issued, the "Notice on Issues Concerning the Average Monthly Working Hours and Wage Conversion of Employees throughout the Year" (Ministry of Labor and Social Security [2000] No. 8) issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security on March 17, 2000 was abolished simultaneously.
- 1. The legal working day of each week is: 5 days

- 6. The statutory working day of each month is: 250 days / year statutory working day ÷ 12 months = 20.83 days;

- 9. The legal working time of each month is: 20.83 days / statutory monthly working day * 8 hours / legal working time = 166.64 hours;
- 10. The legal working hours in each quarter are: 3 months * 166.67 hours / statutory monthly working hours = 500 hours, or 62.50 days / statutory quarter working days * 8 hours / legal working hours = 500 hours;
- 11. The legal working hours of each year are: 12 months * 166.67 hours / statutory monthly working hours = 2000 hours, or 250 days / statutory annual working days * 8 hours / legal working hours = 2000 hours;
- 12. Overtime hours per month are legally 36 hours;
- 13. The overtime hours in each quarter are at most "3 months * 36 hours / statutory monthly overtime hours = 108 hours;
- 14. Overtime hours in a year can be up to: 12 months * 36 hours / legal month overtime hours = 432 hours;
- 15. The time available for work in each month is allowed: 166.67 hours / legal month working time + 36 hours / legal month overtime time = 203 hours;
