What is an air clinic?

Air ambulance is an aircraft equipped for the treatment of medical emergencies. Helicopters, nozzles and cargo aircraft are several types of aircraft that are often used as an air clinic. The air clinic is designed to meet the needs of critically injured or critically ill patients who are located in an area where a land vehicle cannot easily reach. The air clinic can also be used when the patient requires medical care that a local hospital cannot provide to quickly move the patient to another facility.

Aviation ambulances are equipped with medical equipment saving life, such as respirators, portable resuscitation equipment, stretchers, hoops, bandages, etc. The air ambulance also has a highly trained crew. Healthcare workers who work on an air clinic include emergency doctors (EMT), air nurse, and often a doctor because of the severity of injuries that usually require an air clinic. In recreational regions with difficult terrain or in coastal cities, air ambulances are often designed to provide optimal treatment of common injuries associated with a particular environment. The air clinic in this area is likely to be optimized to treat specific injuries from high altitude waterfalls, as well as to have highly trained employees specializing in this type of injury on board.

Military, Coast Guard and many police departments employ an air clinic for search and rescue purposes. In the war, the air clinic is invaluable when the soldiers are seriously injured and ČaS is critical. The Coast Guard can use air ambulances of rental disasters in which the helicopter offers a visual advantage in finding people in the water.

In critical but not -fingertips in which the patient must be transported hundreds of kilometers from their current location, a private air clinic can be hired. This type of air clinic provides transport services that are comparable to the hospital vehicle. Everything the patient needs on the way, including life support, is provided by a medical team of rescuers, doctors and nurses. The private air clinic is very costly, but is usually considered a small price to pay for the benefits of saving life. Some insurance companies cover the full cost of full or partly for this type of private air clinic.
