What is renal hypertension?
Renal hypertension is a disease characterized by the narrowing of the renal arteries that take blood into the kidneys, causing abnormal changes in blood flow. The result is a dangerously high blood pressure. Renal hypertension can also be known as renonovascular hypertension. The whole process relies on the strength of blood pressure to push blood where it must be. Therefore, when the kidneys feel that blood in renal arteries does not normally move, it releases hormonal renin to increase blood pressure. The problem is that the blood pressure of the body is not low. The discarded renal artery causes reduced blood flow, so that instead increased renin causes dangerously high blood pressure.
Renal hypertension is usually diagnosed after the patient has been found to have a high bloodsrs. One of the signs that increased blood pressure is related to renal pressure is that the patient is younger than thirty. If the patient is older than fifty -five and is experiencing a sudden onset of high blood pressure, it is another sign of renal hypeenze. If the problem does not respond to treatment or at a time it stops responding to previously effective treatment, your doctor may start testing for renovascular hypertension.
doctors will diagnose blood tests for increased resin levels. Another way to definitively diagnose this disease is to perform MRI or CT scanning to narrow the renal arteries. If less invasive procedures are not convincing, a more invasive test that injures the dye through the catheter into the weakness, it will allow doctors to see the dye passing through the narrow kidney arteries.
The treatment of other types of high blood pressure and the treatment of renal hypertension is very different. Renal hypertension does not respond to traditional treatment. Instead, treatment must solve the source of the problem: narrow renal artery.
doctors can expand their patient's renal artery in different ways. First, the patient will be laid on the medicine to dissolve anyoily bearings that could be stored in the arteries, causing blood to be less space for the flow. If oily bearings are a problem, surgical treatment called stent may be required. Through the stent, the surgeon can physically spread the blood vessels by stretching the walls of the blood vessels.
