What Is Semen Cryopreservation?

Semen storage refers to artificially created conditions to prolong the survival time of sperm in vitro after the semen is collected, maintain its fertilization capacity, and expand the utilization rate for artificial insemination at any time. At present, there are three methods of storage at room temperature (15-25 ° C); low temperature storage (0-5 ° C); ultra-low temperature storage (liquid nitrogen-196 ° C). The first two methods are also called liquid semen preservation, and the latter method is also called frozen semen preservation. [1]
