What Is a Tree Network?
Tree network is a tree topology that evolves from the bus topology. It is shaped like an inverted tree with the root at the top and branches below the root. Tree networks are also called multi-star networks. A tree-shaped network is formed by a plurality of hierarchical star structures connected vertically. Each node of the tree is a computer or a switching device. Generally, the closer to the root of the tree, the better the performance of the node device. Compared with the star network, the tree network has a shorter total length, lower cost, and nodes are easy to expand. However, the tree network is complicated. When the link connected to the node fails, it has a greater impact on the entire network.
