What is the HomePlug® network?

Networking HomePlug® is a way to transfer data via powerline, such as a home network. The most common use is to create home -made computer networks without the need for additional cabling or wireless signals. HomePlug® itself is the brand and name of the industry standard for the system. In practice, the connection speed is about half the wireless network. This should be enough for most use of the Internet in the home. The HomePlug® signal should be able to travel up to 328 feet (100 meters) without humiliation, so it will be sufficient for virtually all houses. Companies also use an agreed set of standards. This means that all products marked as HomePlug® will be compatible with each other.

There are some factors that can limit the HomePlug® network. The signal may be subject to interference of some devices such as overvoltage protectors. For this reason, it is usually best to use only HomePlug® devices by connecting them directly to the socket rather than through prodLuzing cable or multi-sock adapter. Houses in the United States that use the Energy System of the Divided Phase may not be able to use the HomePlug® network throughout the building.

Data sent via HomePlug® network have a small but significant security risk. This is because the signal can pass outside the boundaries of the building in question. For protection, the HomePlug® device will encrypt data by default. Usually, however, there is no danger that the neighbor will be able to capture your data simply using your own homeplug® equipment.

THKONEPTY and technologies used by HomePlug® Networking can be used for other forms of data transfer. For example, theoretically, it is possible to transmit broadband internet signals via power lines to the house. If this works, the user simply needs to connect a suitable modem between the computer and the standard socket to get an Internet connectionu. In practice, there are several interference problems that make it difficult to use.
