What is a plasma drive?
The
plasma controller is a form of advanced servomechanism developed primarily for the aircraft control surfaces since 2011. The control system has been using plasma flow, which is a highly ionized gas to create an easily mosaible surface that can function as typical curves or flaps on the aircraft. The effect is created by a high -level alternating electric current and uses normal atmospheric air to create the plasma gas itself. Two sheets of electrode conductors are separated by dielectric insulating material. One electrode leaf is exposed at the top of the dielectric medium and one is built into it and outside the center of the second electrode. First, air flows through the exposed electrode and as the system passes through the high voltage current, the plasma gas creature region in the air directly behind the upper electrode and above the inserted manner that can then be controlled and shaped to affect the air flow throughout the all areasAsti drive during flight. This mimics the effect of mechanical aileron without required to require moving parts or hydraulic systems, while creating a more versatile shape with potentially greater control over the aerodynamics of the aircraft.
Air Force Laboratory (AFRL) in the US has been examining a plasma controller since at least 2006 for use in supersonic aircraft design. It is assumed that such devices offer greater reliability than traditional mechanical valves with a probability of reduced weight for the body of the vehicle, which would offer it more maneuverability and long range. In AFRL research, plasma drive was tested in a wind tunnel at speeds of up to five times t from the sound test.
Plasma drive technology has been considered relatively practical since 2011. This is partly because plasma technology is commonly used in consumer devices such as fluorescent lighting and calfVizer plasma screens, and does not require a high temperature to generate, where it is naturally manufactured by stars. The ability to switch the plasma field for turned on and off at extremely high rates also gives the technology a unique advantage in aircraft maneuvers that cannot be achieved by conventional hydraulic means.
6 The functions of the controller are also based on the density of the ambient gas, which is converted into plasma, so that the altitude for aircraft, as well as their velocity, may have direct effects that must be tuned before it can be calculated.
