What is a rotary compressor?

The rotary compressor is a machine that compresses the ambient air by rotary movement. The air when receiving is gradually compressed by the screw configuration and a positive shift. The unit can be cooled by means of oil, air or water. Rotary compressors can be one -stage or used in a series to compress air in two stages.

The function of the rotary bolt compressor chilled oil begins with an air introduced into the central chamber, which is filled with oil. Most often, two interconnected rotary screws, wider at one end and narrower on the other, turn in the opposite directions to gradually push the air towards the narrow end. As the rotation continues, it creates a vacuum at a point sucks and attracts more air into the system. Some units can be configured by a single screw. The compressed air can continue to the service lines connected to the industrial professional or the air receiver that stores it for future use. Oil before returning to compression koMory cools either air or water. This type of unit is also called a wet rotary screw compressor.

For applications where real oil without oil is required, a rotary compressor using no oil in the compression chamber is preferred. Oil -free air is commonly specified in industries such as food processing and pharmaceutical production. These units can be cooled air or water and can also be called compressors of dry rotary screws.

When the required pressure is relatively low, it is possible to achieve the desired level of compression in one step. Otherwise, the partially compressed air leaving the first rotary compressor chamber can be directed to another unit connected in the series. The air is further compressed in the second unit to achieve the required pressure level.

The positive aspect of the displacement of the rotary compressor refers to its fixed volume productionair at a specific pressure. The rotary screw compressors are designed to function continuously. The limited number of moving parts allows them to be reliable and easy to maintain.

The power rotary compressor motor can be connected directly to the compression chamber or can be controlled by a belt. Stationary units are most often driven by an electric motor, but portable units used for construction or repair can also be powered by gasoline or diesel fuel. Rotary screw compressors are available in sizes from several horse forces to several hundred horse forces.
