What Is Artificial Stone?
Artificial stone usually refers to artificial stone solid surface material, artificial stone quartz stone, artificial stone granite and the like. Different types of artificial stones have different compositions. The main ingredients are resin, aluminum powder, pigment and curing agent.
- Artificial stone is a synthetic decorative material. According to the binder used, it can be divided into two categories: organic artificial stone and inorganic artificial stone. According to the different production processes, it can be divided into four types: polyester artificial marble, composite artificial marble, silicate artificial marble, and sintered artificial marble.
- Of the four artificial stone decorative materials, organic (polyester) is the most commonly used, and its physical and chemical properties are also the best.
- Marble is a high-end decorative material, so you must be careful when buying to avoid wasting money. The identification of marble appearance quality can be done from the following items.
- (1) Determine the color tone of the pattern. Under sufficient light conditions, place the selected boards and the same batch of other marble boards to be placed on the ground at the same time, and carefully observe them at a distance of 1.5m. It is required that the pattern tone of the same batch of marble slabs should be basically adjusted.
- (2) Check for surface defects. Under sufficient light conditions, place the board on the ground and observe the invisible defects standing at a distance from the marble board lin. There is no defect; standing at a distance from the board lin is visible at 1. Defects not obvious at sin are no obvious defects; Obvious defects at sin are considered defective. Defects specifically observed are warping of the i-plate; the presence of cracks, trachoma, heterochromatic spots, stains, and depressions on the surface of the plate. If it is judged that the above kinds of defects are absent, the board is a superior product, and the front side of the board is not allowed to have chipped corners. If the above defects are not obvious and there are no obvious chipped corners, then the board can be regarded as a first class. If there are several defects, but it does not affect the use, and there is only one place on the front side of the board with a length of no more than 8mm, a width of no more than 3mm, or an edge with a length and a width of no more than 3mm, the board can be judged as qualified . If the board is damaged during transportation, loading and unloading, it can be bonded (for cracked boards) or repaired (for angular defects, surface potholes or pits). However, no obvious marks are allowed on the front side after bonding and repairing, and the color should be close to the front color.
- (3) Check the mark. The order of marking of marble slabs is: naming, classification, specifications, grades, and standard naming order of marble slabs: name of the place of origin of the block, name of the pattern and color characteristics, and marble (code: M). Marble slabs are divided into two categories: general-type slabs (codenamed N): square or rectangular slabs; special-shaped slabs (codenamed S): slabs of other shapes. There are three grades of marble slabs: first-class product (code A), first-class product (code B) and qualified product (code C). The classification is based on the allowable deviation of the size and size of the board, the allowable limit tolerance of flatness, the allowable limit tolerance of angle, the appearance quality and the mirror gloss.
- Terrazzo is a product whose surface is polished after mixing crushed stone into cement to make concrete. Commonly used to make floor tiles, countertops, sinks, etc.
- It is undoubtedly of great economic significance to use the huge amount of waste generated from the mining of natural stone as the main raw material of artificial stone, to turn waste into treasure to produce artificial stone, and to produce more building decorative materials than natural stone. The industrial cluster formed around the development of the artificial stone industry can absorb a large number of people's employment, and it will undoubtedly have great social significance to promote the development of the regional economy. The environmental protection concept of human production methods promoted and demonstrated by artificial stone is a social progress and circular economy concept. The deep root of the people is of great significance.
- Stone mining brings more than 70% of waste stones. Disposing of these waste stones or taking up land for landfilling or landfilling destroys a lot of valuable land, making stone resources a major hazard to the environment [2]
- 1) Maintenance
- , daily maintenance only need to wipe with a sponge, neutral detergent to maintain cleanliness; to disinfect, you can use diluted daily bleach (reconciled with water 1: 3 or 1: 4) or other disinfection solution to wipe Its surface. Please wipe off the water stains with a towel in time to keep the work surface as dry as possible.
- Due to the water scale and strong oxidants (chlorine ions) in the water, the water stays on the countertop for a long time will produce stains that are difficult to remove. Please dry with a hair dryer. After a few hours or days, the stains will slowly disappear. Fine white marks can be removed by moistening the cloth with edible oil and rubbing the surface gently.
- (3) If a small stain appears, it can be wiped with a neutral detergent or gel toothpaste.
- 2) Nursing
- The decontamination steps for some stubborn stains depend on the degree of polishing of the surface of the board:
- Matt surface: Polish with a circle of detergent cleaner, then wash, and then dry with a dry towel. Every once in a while, wipe the entire surface with a clean cloth to keep it smooth.
- Semi-matte surface: Polish with a non-abrasive detergent in a circle of 100% clean cloth, dry with a towel, and use a non-abrasive polishing object to enhance the surface gloss effect.
- high-gloss surface: use sponge and non-abrasive brightener. Extremely difficult to remove dirt can be sanded with 1200 mesh sandpaper, and then brightened with a soft cloth and brightener (or furniture wax).
- 3) Precautions
- 1. Do not place hot objects directly on the table. When placing high-temperature objects, a bracket with rubber feet, a heat-insulating pad and other heat-insulating materials should be added under the placed items;
- 2. Do not use hot water to wash the countertop of the cabinet immediately after cold water washing, otherwise the artificial marble countertop will burst due to the rapid cooling and hot surface in a short time;
- 3. Do not drag heavy items directly on the countertop in order to keep the countertop smooth and beautiful;
- 4. Don't use the countertop as a cutting board to directly cut and chop various items; (Hint: add a rubber non-slip mat or towel under the cutting board)
- 5. Do not allow heavy objects or sharp objects to impact the artificial stone surface to prevent leaving traces;
- 6. Avoid contacting the countertop with some organic solvents, such as paint remover, acetone-containing delustering water, pine perfume, etc., all may damage the countertop's gloss and flatness and cause stains.
- 7, normal use will be fine. But if a hot object comes into direct contact, it can easily burst. Remember!
- Warping and cracking
- Mainly polyester resin and
- Artificial stone has great market potential in home decoration and architectural decoration. Its surface is smooth, colorful, and bright like jade, which is very popular with consumers. Artificial stone is a general term for artificial marble and artificial agate. The artificial resin has the advantages of non-toxic, non-penetrating, easy-cutting processing, arbitrary color adjustment, and arbitrary shape casting, etc., which is made by mixing resin resin with fillers and pigments through certain processing procedures.
- The key link in the production and processing of artificial stone is its forming process and surface treatment. The forming process determines the intrinsic quality of artificial stone, such as hardness, flexural deformation, temperature resistance, etc., and the surface treatment effect affects its external appearance. Today, artificial stone molding has been produced in an assembly line today, and its molding process has stabilized. However, in the surface treatment process, there are many problems such as polishing and wasting labor, wasting time, serious pollution, and high defect rate. The appearance and thickness of artificial stone can be set with a sander, but the detailed sanding and side sanding of the artificial stone surface must be completed manually. The hardness of the artificial stone surface is high, and polishing and glazing are time-consuming and labor-intensive. It is not yet possible to produce a high-gloss and full-feeling effect. The emergence of UV coating technology can precisely solve the problem of surface treatment of artificial stone production.
- Environmental requirements for spraying: It is recommended that customers prepare their own dust-free spray booth; the ground should be water-based, enter the spray booth and be cleaned by air, and make a curtain at each entrance to blow away the dust carried by people entering the spray booth; The ventilation device adopts the positive pressure and secondary pressure method to effectively clean and filter the air.
