What is electronic packaging?

Despite its name, electronic packaging does not apply to the packaging connected to the transport of electronics or sales packaging containing electronic devices or components observed in stores. Instead, electronic packaging concerns the method of closing, protection or provision of physical structure either by electronic components, building components or finished electronic devices. For example, a DVD player is an electronic assembly wrapped in a rectangular metal case that protects it and allows the location of the buttons that are used to operate the device, as well as the connectors needed to connect the DVD player to other devices. Similarly, an integrated circuit, often called an IC or chip, is packed in an electronic packaging consisting of a small black epoxy closure that allows the device to be used without damage and soldered on the circuit plate.

Packing of electronics often includes a seriesdu different electronic packages. For example, a number of integrated circuits each in their own electronic package are soldered on a plate with circuits along with other devices such as diodes and resistors, each of which is also in their own electronic package. The circuit board itself can also be considered an electronic package because it provides a location and method for connecting integrated circuits, diodes and resistors and a stable structure that can be connected to the framework. The framework is also a package of electronics because it provides the structure needed to collect the circuit boards in a larger single assembly. This larger assembly can then be placed in a sheet metal case, an electronic package that consumers can easily identify as a DVD player.

The skills and qualifications needed to work in electronic packaging differ greatly, depending on the extent of the electronics involved and the final end use of the concerned package. For example, a CPU on a computer contains a silicone chip,This is an electronic package containing all transistors and other electronic circuits that make up the CPU. The mobile phone is included in a package of plastic electronics that protects it from dust and dirt, as well as the location of all the buttons and displays needed to use the phone. As you can see clearly, designing a microscopic chip CPU requires much different skills than designing a flashy case for a mobile phone.

At the smaller end of the scale, primary electronic components such as resistors and CPU chips are usually packed in plastic or epoxy, although sometimes glass is also used. If the component emits interference or is necessary to withstand high temperatures, it can also be placed in another external electronic package made of metal. An important part of the primary electronic components is the means that the package provides for the component of another component. Sometimes this is achieved, although a set of small metal wires that fit intoSocket type such as CPU. Other times, the device package has a range of long metal wires for soldering on a circuit board, as is the case with resistors.

As soon as the primary components set is assembled into a larger assembly, there are other options for packing these assemblies. The circuit board itself can sometimes be a package of electronics, but usually the plates of circuits and similar assemblies are closed in another type of electronic package. The type of package used is usually determined by using the assembly or the conditions in which it will be used. For example, the circuit board can be screwed to a frame that simply holds it in place; However, it can be closed with plastic or resin to be waterproof. It can also be closed in a sheet, a cast or machined metal case to prevent it from affecting the noise of the perimeter or the tappage can be airtight to create a hermetic seal that prevents assembly to be affected by atmospheric conditions.

Finally there are external electronic packaging thatIt forms an external assembly shell, such as a metal metal case on the DVD player. In consumer electronics, this type of packaging is often driven by consumer attraction; In industrial applications, however, this can be a complicated design that protects it from extreme heat, humidity or other environmental conditions. This type of package is often not designed to keep things enough to maintain things, as in the case of a package designed to safely close high -cost components.
