What Is a Sterilization Tray?

Untreated lignin may hide insects and eggs, and the risk of introducing harmful organisms is high, which will break the ecological balance of the importing country, cause biological invasion, and may cause serious harm to agricultural and forest resources. USDA has issued guidelines to reduce the risk of pests introduced into wooden packaging. Because wooden packaging is often reused, the true source is difficult to determine, so its handling status is difficult to determine.

Fumigation tray

Fumigation tray processing method

1. The raw material of the fumigation tray is composite board or plywood. The raw material is formed by using various types of wooden waste materials through high temperature and high pressure sterilization.
2. There are two main methods of treatment: heat treatment and fumigation with methyl bromide. For heat treatment, the temperature of the wood center of the wood packaging should reach 56OC, and it should be maintained for at least 30 minutes. For fumigation, the wood packaging must be fumigated in a closed place at the specified dose of methyl bromide for at least 16 hours, and then placed in a ventilated place. The concentration of the fumigant drops below a safe concentration. After any of the above treatments, it is best to place a clear and permanent mark on the front and back of each product in the visible position of each product in the wooden packaging. This mark needs to be protected by the International Plant Protection Convention. Approval to demonstrate that the wood packaging has been processed as specified. A mark must include an IPPC-specific mark, an ISO-standard country code, a unique number issued to a wood packaging manufacturer by the country's plant protection agency, and an acronym representing the treatment method. Fumigation tray products generally meet the entry and environmental requirements of countries around the world, and can be cleared directly in the importing country without any formalities.

Fumigation tray disinfection method

There are two methods of using drugs and heat treatment. The drugs used are: methyl bromide, ethylene oxide
1. Neatly stack the cargo to be fumigated in the wooden box, cover it with a tarpaulin, and compact it on all sides to seal it, but leave a corner for the medicine injection port.
2. Put a basin of clear water under the cloth and put the medicine into the water
3. Compact the reserved medicine injection port so that the goods that need to be fumigated in the wooden box are kept completely sealed for 24 hours.
4. Open the cloth cloth and ventilate, and then move the goods when the poisonous gas is gone, about 18-24 hours
5. Issue a fumigation-free wooden box (disinfection) certificate.
