This product is a third-generation aminobisphosphonate-type bone resorption inhibitor. It has a strong affinity with hydroxyapatite in bone and exerts anti-bone resorption by inhibiting the activity of osteoclasts. Its anti-bone resorption effect is 1000 times stronger than that of etidronate, and it has no inhibitory effect on bone mineralization. Bone mass increased in 96% of patients treated with this product, and vertebral distortion, shortened height, and incidence of fractures (including medulla, spine, and carpal) were improved in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis.
After oral administration, it is mainly absorbed in the small intestine with poor absorption. Food and minerals can significantly reduce their absorption. The plasma protein binding rate of this product is about 80%, the serum half-life is short, and about 20% to 60% of the absorbed drug is quickly taken up by bone tissue. The peak time in bone is about 2 hours after medication, and the rest is quickly passed through the kidney in its original shape Excretion is eliminated. Within 24 hours after taking the drug, more than 99% of the drug stored in the body is concentrated in bone tissue, and the half-life in the bone is about 10 years or more.
