What is auricular acupuncture?

Auricular acupuncture is simply acupuncture made on the ear. Acupuncture is an ancient healing practice that was created in China. The name comes from the Latin Acus or "needles" and from punger or "prick" and involves inserting superficial needles into specific points on the body. After insertion, the needles can be manipulated to stimulate the body for healing. For auricular acupuncture, the insertion of needles is carried out on the ear, which is assumed to contain countless important and potentially therapeutic acupuncture points.

Today, acupuncture is most associated with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Ancient practice, however, has also been paid to great attention in the Western world and is sometimes incorporated into healing practices in Western style. As the practice has spread and has begun to follow more around the world, the appearance of medical groups dedicated to one or more area of acupuncture also became common.

One such specialized group consists of those acupuncturists whoThey focus on the acupuncture of the ears. The auricular acupuncture must be familiar with about two hundred acupuncture points that exist in the outer ear. It should be noted that acupuncture needles are never inserted into the auditory channel, an opening leading to the inner ear. The acupuncturist of the ear acupuncturist is Auricle or the fleshy cartilage of the outer ear, which is also called Pinna.

As with all forms of acupuncture, acupuncture points found in the outer ear correspond to other places in the body. By stimulating these points, abbreviated acupuncture needles, it sends an acupuncture needle sends electrical impulse messages to the brain, which is assumed to stimulate other areas of the body. In this way, the auricular acupuncture can alleviate joint and muscle pain, stimulate organs and the brain of its self and achieve a number of other therapeutic effects for the patient. The outer ear is considered a particularly rich source of these BOde, which can explain the need for specialization in auricular acupuncture.

In the more westernized style of auricular acupuncture, one particularly interesting tool began to be used. It is an electro acupunctoscope, an electrical tool used by acupuncture for localization and stimulation of acupoints on the outer ear. With this tool, also used in the acupuncture of the whole body, the acupuncturist stimulates acupupoints through the so -called transcutaneous stimulation of electric nerve (TENS). The acupunctoscope replaces the use of embedded needles with electric pulses and is considered to be equally effective. However, it is not a tool used in traditional acupuncture. In fact, because of the absence of needles that pierce the skin, this therapy is not at all acupuncture at all. It can be thought more like westernized therapy, which focuses on the same acupoints and body meridians as a traditional acupuncture, but these points approach in a different way.

auricular acupuncture is considered to be an apparatusIn the treatment of mental/emotional disorders, including anxiety, depression and insomnia. It is also used to treat physical pain such as arthritis, back pain, migraine, headache, tendonitis and sitting pain. By stimulating corresponding points in the brain and body, auricular acupuncture is also used as therapy to treat digestive problems such as colitis and digestion, as well as problems with respiratory and sinus problems such as asthma, sennal fever and sinusitis. Therapy can also be used to treat obesity, pre-lames syndrome and drug addiction, alcohol and cigarette addiction.
