What Is Nabumetone?

Nabumetone is a non-acidic, non-ionic prodrug. After oral absorption, it is converted into the main active product 6-methoxy-2-naphthoacetic acid (6-MNA) by the liver. This active metabolism It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. It also has the ability to inhibit the migration of multi-line leukocytes and monocytes like inflammatory tissues in vitro, and to inhibit certain hydrolases in inflammatory exudates.

Nabumetone indication

This product is used for various acute and chronic arthritis and sports soft tissue injuries, sprains and contusions, postoperative pain, toothache, dysmenorrhea, etc.

Clinical application of nabumetone

Oral: 1.0 g / time, 1 time / day; the maximum amount is 2 g / day, divided into 2 times. Adults weighing less than 50 kg can start at 0.5 g / day and gradually increase to an effective dose.

1. This product gastrointestinal adverse reactions include: nausea, vomiting, indigestion, diarrhea, abdominal pain and constipation 1% to 3%. Upper gastrointestinal bleeding was about 0.7%. Nabumetone precautions

Severe heart failure is disabled. Patients with active or previous history of peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation are contraindicated. Patients who induce asthma, urticaria, or allergic reactions after taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are contraindicated. It is contraindicated in the treatment of perioperative pain in coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG).
