What is Sandplay therapy?

Sandplay therapy is used in many types of therapeutic practice. It is based on the work of Eric Neumann, whose main psychological tilt was towards the psychodynamic practices and the work of Dory Kalff, Jungian. The use of Jungian and the psychodynamic sand tray is a distinction that is important, and both therapies are sometimes called Sandplay (KALFF) and a sand tray (Neumann) to clarify that they represent two different methods. The therapist assumes active and guideline roles and asks questions about the client's possibilities as soon as the scenes are made. Therapists can directly client creations and during the session the magazine could be emptied and cleaned. This conversation between the therapist/client during creation and interpretation fits well into the Freudian models analyst as an interpreter/client instructor and helps clients to grasp the UCONSCIY expressions in everyday behavior or artistic production.

Dora KalfFova interpretation of Sandplay therapy is reportedly inspired by Neumann and was created in the mid -20th century. There are real differences between Kalffa and Neumann and how sand trays could be used. One of the biggest changes is the way the therapist and the client interact while creating a Sandplay therapy. Kalff defended that the therapists would not interfere in this process at all; Therapists only speak if the client asked a direct question. In other circumstances, the therapist receives and quiet, while the client creates a picture of the sand tray with sand and the selection of characters.

In addition, the sand tray is left undisturbed until the client leaves. He could even take pictures that could be shared with the client. In Kalff's early recommendations, analysts developed trays.

Divergence between two types of Sandplay therapy is partly due to the differences between the psychodynamic and Jungian approach. Kalff claimed that all people strive for integrity or individualizationAnd given things like representative characters and sand, they naturally create archetypal scenes that mean this path. This requires a very small intervention by the therapist and occurs specifically through creative acts. The psychodynamic approach prefers a different view of the unconscious where people require interpretation to understand unconscious motifs. Jung/Freud Schism is obvious, especially in Jung's faith in a collective unconscious or set of images/archetypes shared by all people who are recognized at a deep level.

In real practice, therapists may differ in the way they use Sandplay therapy. They can use it as part of a session or everything and in each session or just a few. It can be used in children and adults can be employed when therapists have selected a number of numbers to be selected for a sand tray. A number of therapists attend special workshops that train when using it, and they can firmly follow a single type of therapy or could with sMix the thought schools.
