What are the fans of the sea?

Sea fans, also called Gorgonians and sea whips, are night animals that look more like plants than animals. They are scientifically classified as membership of Kingdom Animal, Phylum Cnidaria, Anthozo class, Podcída Alcyonaria and the Order of Gorgonacea. Maritime fans are sessile, which means they cannot move, and are found exclusively in the sea water environment. They live in the oceans around the world. They are particularly suitable for tropical and subtropical water of the ocean and often occur in shallow water near the state of Florida and places such as Bermuda and Western India. These colonies normally stand vertically and look flattened by branches and create a similar fan. Sometimes, however, they may look bushy or look like whips. Sometimes they even seem to be covered. Sea fans colonies can be high to many tracks and expand a few traces of only a few centimeters of thickness. Sea fans often appear in very bright colors such as red, purpleand yellow.

6 On the other hand, subordinate scheraxonia has a skeletal basis of structures similar to calcium, which forms dense groups. Some species behave more like corals and decompose like Coral. However, most of the sea fans are not connected to hard things. Usually sea fans occupy residence in mud or sand, and some need up to 8 inches (20.32 centimeters) of sand in which they are to anchor.

There are eight tentacles on each seabed polyp. They are used to capture plankton and other small particles, which are then consumed. The process they eat is called filter feeding. Their successful feeding can be helped when they are placed against currunt in the water. This makes it possible to maximize their food supply.

Sea fans are most commonly found in shallow water. However, several thousand feet lived below the water surface. It seems that the way they look and how large they grow depends onTom where they are. For example, they have a shape of a more similar fan and are more flexible, usually occur in shallower water that has stronger currents. On the other hand, those that are higher, thinner and much less flexible are usually found in deeper water that has a calmer stream.

It is interesting that other types of marine fauna settle in colonies of marine fans. These include fragile stars and hydrozoa. It is known that Pygmy Seahorse lives between the branches of certain types of marine fans. But this sea horse looks a lot like his host of sea fans and is able to mask in his house.
