What is a black drum?
The black drum is the lower feeding of salt water fish, which can grow relatively large. He is a member of the Pogonias Rybonias family and is related to the Atlantic Croaker and the Security. This can be found in the Atlantic Ocean, near the coast of North and South America and in the Gulf of Mexico. Black drums have commercial and recreational value. Smaller are edible and are often served in restaurants in the southeast US. They lose through the mud on the bottom of these areas in search of food and come in the sediment as they pass. As a result, it is easy for fishermen to watch large schools of black drum fish. In colder weather, they go to deeper water and are more difficult to find them and are more likely to be Sharks and other big fish.
black drum fish usually weigh between £ 25 and £ 40 (11-18 kg), but it was known to be up to £ 100 (45 kg) and can live for 35 years or more. Their backs are highly arched and have between 10 and 14 pairs of sharp chin. FROMThe depth of these fish are strong enough to break through molluscs and oysters. Mature fish are silvery gray or almost black with large scale. Younger black drums have darker colors on the sides.
Depending on their location and water temperature, these fish emerge near the coast at different times during the winter and early spring. Women can produce millions of eggs that can hatch within 24 hours. The vast majority of them die or become a meal for countless predators.
Fishermen catch a slow black drum quite easily and often by chance. They are imprisoned by nets and tows, or take a bait that was designed for other types of sports fish. While smaller black drums are edible, older, larger fish have bad meat of poor quality. Their meat can also contain spaghetti of worms that can get these fish from the Dead Sea. They are harmless to people, but very undesirable, and as a result, large black drums are almost always caught and released.
