What is the swamp?
BOG is a type of wetland characterized by a strong mat partially distributed plant material and high -acid water. The conditions for forming peat are abundant in some areas of the northern hemisphere, where most of the world's peat bogs are found. In addition to unique ecosystems, swamps have been useful for people for thousands of years and provide a source of fuel in the form of peat and food in the form of berries that grow on swords such as cranberries. The swamps also have cultural and religious significance in some parts of the world. Colder weather promotes the formation of peat bogs because the moss decomposes very slowly, descends to the bottom of the peat bog, while the layer of growing moss accumulates above and limits oxygen supplies to the ground water while blocking heat. As a result, the plant material is folded very slowly and the water becomes acidic. Over time, the swamp slowly fills and creates the soil on which shrubs and sometimes small trees can grow. A wide range of plant and animal is adapted for the livelihood of swampsIliest species, including some lichens, turtles, berries and carnivorous plants. BOG of the environment is also valuable because it can prevent floods as a compensatory zone.
One of the more known swamps is peat, the weight of partially distributed plant material is widely found in the swamps. When drying, peat can be used as fuel or enrich the soil. Over time, the swamps become coal deposits if they remain separately in the right conditions. Many people are also familiar with cranberries, cloudries, lingonberries and huckleberries, all of whom have germile environments. Unfortunately, the large peat Harvesting irreparably damaged many peat bogs in Europe, changing the landscape forever.
Another well -known by -product of the swamp formation is the so -called "bog body". The slow degree of decomposition in peat bogs refers to the bodies and other objects buried in them and all sorts of things from STArchaic books to completely mumified people, such as the Tollund man, were found in the swamps. This was extremely useful for archaeologists because it provides a look into the everyday life of people who lived thousands of years ago.
