What is the scout?

SCUTE is a bony plate or a scale similar to the shields on the skin of some reptiles, birds and mammals. Although similar to the scales, Scutes have different origins and properties. Some scientists speculate that structures can provide guides for early development of feathers, because many dinosaurs, which are widely considered closely related to birds, also had Scutes. SCUTES on alligators and crocodiles are bony, published plates that form the hard skin of the animal, protect it from predators, and may help it regulate its temperature. These scutes have a bone base and are known as osteoderms.

in turtles and turtles, the whole carapace or upper shell, is the structure of the molten scutes. Scutes running down to the center of the shell along the spine are called central scutes. Other SCutes rows on both sides of the spine are called Coast Scutes more avid Scoutes are known as marginal scutes. Plastron or underside of the turtle shell also consists of scutes.

Every scout is formed in the lower layer of the skin, dermis, under the epidermis. It can contain bones at its base, in which case it is known as osteoderm. The rest of the scute consists of a fibrous protein, which is also found in rocks, known as keratin. Unlike snakes and lizards that cast their entire outer layer of skin, animals with these structures cast only the outer layer of keratin. Scales differ from Scutes in that they evolve from an epidermis rather than a dermis.

birds and mammals, like reptiles, can have scutes. In birds they are dermal leg structures. Mammals such as Armadillos and Pangolins have board osteoderms that form a layer of armor. As with crocodiles, scutes for mammals are used.

Scouts scientists used Scutes as a possible lead in finding the origin of feathers. It has been theorized that feathers developed from reptiles but testing revealed that feathers and scales are genetically and chemicku different. On the other hand, they can be genetically tightened with feathers. It is even possible that they have evolved from feathers rather than vice versa.

Fossil discoveries indicated that many dinosaurs probably had feathers and that the feathers themselves could be more primitive than before. If this is true, it is possible that birds and dinosaurs have evolved from a normal feature ancestor. Some scientists speculate that SCUTE could develop from the early structure of feathers on the ancestors of this type.
