What is Frenulum?

Frenulum is a small segment of tissue that anchor and controls the organ or other part of the body. Frenula - which is plural for frenulum - exists in the oral cavity, digestive tract, brain and genital tissue of men and women. A tight frenulum may be the cause of developmental problems in children or a diagnostic symptom of a basic disorder. Although it is sometimes diagnosed at birth, the first symptom of ankyloglossia is often when the child does not gain weight as expected and the mother has sore nipples and signs of poor milk supply. In an older child, Ankkyloglossia may show symptoms in the form of intercourse disorders, as motor control can be seriously limited. After discovery, the condition can be treated with a simple surgery as a Frenchuloplasty, after which the baby's feeding or speech can be improved almost immediately.

In some cases, the abnormalities of oral frenula may be a symptom rather than a diagnosis. AbnorMality in the maxillary frenulum, which connects the upper lip with the gum line directly above the front teeth, has proven to be a possible predictor of the child's heart state known as the syndrome of the hypoplastic left heart. Similarly, the absence of this same structure was associated with a congenital malformation of the brain known as Holoposencephaly.

hypertrophic frenula is sometimes seen in the genital French and women, which results in lack of mobility either to shy ashamed or foreskin. In men, this situation once thought it required circumcision, but is usually easily treated with freedectomy or French. Among women, hypertrophic frenuula is most likely to occur as a result of trauma during childbirth or forced sexual intercourse, but usually treated in a similar way.

In entomology, the frenulum is the structure of the wing observed in certain types of butterflies and moths and in cicadas. The term describes the structure that connects the rear wings for the purpose of synchronized movement during flight. Between butterflies andMoths are a female version of the structure composed, while the male version is simple. As a result, details of the structure can be used as a reliable feature for a sexual property for many species.
