Newborns have all kinds of reflex movements. These movements have nothing to do with the role of the brain. They are unconscious movements caused by stimulation inside and outside the body, which will disappear with the development of the brain. The main reflection movements are:
(1) Embrace reflex This is one of the criteria for measuring whether the baby's brain is developing normally. When the baby is asleep, the quilt covering it is suddenly lifted off, and the baby will be shocked and throw his hands up; or if the baby blows on his face when he is asleep, the baby will have the same reaction This reaction is called hug reflection. When doing this reflex, if the baby raises its left hand instead of its right hand, or if it raises its right hand without raising its left hand, it indicates that the opposite half of the brain that does not raise its hand may have abnormal development. If there is no response at all, it is abnormal brain development or intracranial hemorrhage.
(2) Breastfeeding reflex Touch the baby's small mouth or cheeks with your fingers, and the small mouth will forcefully move in the direction of the finger's touch, and will appear to be feeding.
(3) I want to grasp anything that touches my hand while holding reflection. In addition, if you touch the bottom of the baby's feet with your fingers, the baby's feet will twitch or reflect inward. These reflex movements disappear when the baby's neck can stand up in three or four months.
