What is a Nasolacrimal Duct?
The nasolacrimal duct is a duct through which the tears drain from the eyes into the nasal cavity through the medial condyle. Nasolacrimal duct is a membrane duct. The upper part is embedded in the bony nasolacrimal duct, which is closely combined with the periosteum; the lower part is on the deep side of the mucosa on the outer side of the nasal cavity. The lower part opens at the front of the outer wall of the lower nasal passage.
