What is the front fontanelle?

During birth, the child has a membrane between the bones. Bones have not yet been associated with ossification or hardening, as the rest of this part of the skeletal system. This gap is known as the fontanelle or the "soft place" of the child, and there are several types of this anatomical feature. The largest type is the front fontanelle, which is also known as the front fontanelle or Bregmatic fontanelle. It is located between three types of connective tissue joints: sagittal stitch, coronal stitch and frontal stitch. The anterior fontanelle is sometimes called a Bregmatic fontanelle because it contains a Bregma, a point of the skull where the sagital stitch perpendicular to the coronal stitch.

sagital suture acts as a joint between parietal bones, which are a pair of bone form sides and roof of the skull. On the other hand, the coronal stitch is the joint of connective tissue responsible for distinguishing parietal bones from the frontal bone in the shape of Cockleshell, which contains the forehead. The third joint of the connective tissue that forms the intersection where the front fontanelle is locatedNtal stitch is named for its role to create a temporary dividing line on the front bone. Thus, the front fontanelle includes areas of front and parietal bones.

Fontanelles generally exist so that the skull can bend so that the child makes it easier to pass through the birth canal. Even after birth, they remain to allow the young brain to expand. The front fontanelle is thus named because it appears on the front of the skull. Other types of fontanel include the rear fontanelle, which is located in the back of the skull - specifically Whoba Parietal Bones encounter the bottom of the skull known as the occipital bones. Another type of fontanelle, side fontanelle, is formed on the sides of the skull.

Rear and side fontanels disappear within six months of birth. However, the front fontanelle will not close until the second year of life. In addition, it does not start to ossify until the person does not approach at the age of 30. The process of hardening closed up to 50 years.
