What is myometrium?

Myometrium is the muscle wall of the uterus. This layer lies between the endometrium, a inner layer of glands lining the uterus, and an outer membrane known as a perimeter. It consists mainly of smooth muscles, but also contains connective tissue and blood vessels. The main structure of the uterus is made up of myometrial tissue. It pulls out but still provides the structure of the uterus. The layer contains arteries that receive blood from larger arteries and then transmit it to the placenta that supports the fetus.

Once pregnancy is full of periods and it is time to give birth, myometrium is the key to the work process. The muscles must be downloaded to successfully push the baby from the uterus. Once the child is delivered, the muscles of the myometry will continue to download to push out the placenta. It also compresses blood, which minimizes blood loss after delivery.

Sometimes myometrial muscles lose a tone, which is a problem known as the uterus atony. This can cause problems during and after a work process such as lack of contractions and postpartum bleeding. The atons may be the result of a number of different factors, such as dragging the uterus due to multiple fruits, work that is too fast or too prolonged, or more than five times after delivery.

One common problem that can affect myometrium is the appearance of abnormal masses known as uterine fibroids. These masses are also called leiomyomas, which means that they are not predecessors of cancer, and if they remain small, often do not cause any symptoms or problems. However, as they grow, they can cause problems such as excessive menstrual bleeding, pain and constipation. They can also lead to the infertility of blochanem of the fallopian tube or prevent embryo implantation. Fibroids may need to be removed by surgery and in some cases full hysterectomy may be required.

Cancer that starts in myometrium is known as uterine sarcoma. This type of cancer is relatively rare; Most uterine cancer comes from an endometerIa. As with many cancer, early detection is a key to a high chance of survival. Tumors can be removed surgically or treated with radiation or chemotherapy.
