What are the outline lines?

Topography is a field that examines the soil surface. The findings are often documented on topographic maps. Such maps usually contain many lines known as outline lines. They are used to detect the shape of the surface and to indicate an increase in different areas. One of the functions of these brands is to show how high or low the surface is in a specific location. This is usually referred to as altitude.

The sea level is a point where the surface of the water and the surface of the soil is the same. The height of this point is zero. The outline lines are generally compared to the sea level. These markings will show how much higher or lower than the sea level is an area. This is what allows a person to determine an increase in a numerical point of view. On the topographic map, one should see that some lines are darker than others. The changing tones indicate different contours.

Darker lines are called index outlines. Instead of attempting to indicate each line with a number that could lead to a disordered and confusing diagram, only a certain classDky. The number representing each outline of the index should be increased in the same increments. Therefore, if the first outline of index 10 is then there must be another 20.

Between two lines of the index contour, a person should find four lighter colors. Each of them will also have as much ascending additions, but not as large as those that represent index outlines. The outline interval of these lighter lines should also represent the space between two index outlines. If the first outline of index 10 and the second is 20, then four lines should be 12, 14, 16 and 18.

The arrangement of the outline lines in this way provides increased accuracy. Also, a person to have to do too much calculation. The person must check each map because the outline lines can be represented by various measurements such as legs, miles or meters.

The second function of the contour line is the definition of the surface. Those liNie show what the area looks like. Some maps use a view of directing that shows what the country should look like if you go down the work. For example, if the island was a perfect square, the outline line would reveal it. However, if there was a perfectly circular mountain on this island, it would also turn out.
