What are some Cambrian organisms?

Cambrian organisms lived during the Cambrian era, from approximately 542 to 488 million years. The Cambrian era is a well -known Cambrian explosion, a sudden period of adaptive radiation, during which representatives of all modern animal phyla (except Bryozoans) appeared. This happened approximately 530 million years ago and took about 10 million years.

The beginning of the Cambrian period was traditionally defined as the emergence of point arthropods in the shape of a shield called trilobite and early fungi (and the first cliff builders) called Archeocyathids (literally "ancient cup"). Since then, its beginning has been redefined as an extinct event that indicates the boundary of Cambrian-Precambrian. The time of this event was very precisely defined by changes in the ratios of carbon isotopes that occur during this period, indicating a major decline in planetary biomass.

Cambrian faunas were the first truly diverse fauna. The beginning of the Cambrian period is Marked by recognized trilobites and archeocyathides, except for a slightly StarSmall small fauna Shelly, the first known organisms with hard shell, considered simple brachiopods. Soon in Cambrian, there are distinctive trace fossils, including vertical burrows and other traces, which are expected to leave the first animals to develop hydrostatic skeletons. The hydrostatic skeleton is not at all a hard skeleton, but rather a cavity filled with liquid, which is attached and is pulled by the surrounding muscles.

During the Cambrian period, a number of invertebrates have evolved - and the first vertebrates in the form of fish without a jaw -. These include jellyfish, early crustaceans, mushrooms, priapulide, extremely common marrella (related trilobites), small Arachnomorf yohoia , including a soft body trilobite, and “strange theaters” of the bizzare five eyes with a clawed pendant extending from his mouth, huge (Cambrian Standards) anomaLocaris , which was the first apex predator to be odd, rule Odontagriphus .

About half of the Cambrian fauna was extinct during the Cambrian - Ordovice extinct events at the end of the period. Brachiopods, Conodonts and Trilobites were strongly influenced. Trilobites have never been so numerous or diverse again.
