What Is a Folding Bridge?

The Badie Bridge is located in Badie Village, Yongfeng Town, ten kilometers west of Linhai. According to "Linhai County Chronicle", it was rebuilt in the eighth year of Qing Emperor Kangxi (1669) and rebuilt in 1942. The bridge is a section-by-section single-hole stone arch bridge with a length of 17 meters. The arch coupons are made of dry stones and the rest are made of rough stones. The bridge deck is paved with stone slabs, on both sides of which are pillars and railings. The pillars of the pillars are engraved with various beasts.

Eight Stack Bridge

The dates of the construction of the Badie Bridge are not recorded in local historical sources. According to the "Tai Lin Xie's Genealogy" rebuilt in Qing 1851, "Yuan Bingchi, the Empress Dowager (that is, Xie Daoqing, Linhai people) was awarded to the offspring of the Taiwanese religion. The tomb of the man, holding the statue of the ancestral instrument Bu Ju tea pavilion, hides the imperial officialdom, uses poems and wines, builds two bridges in Shuangxi, and grows green bamboo in the West Garden. One of the houses in the village of Hase. Because of this record, Xie Qing, a descendant of the cultural and history enthusiast in the village, believes that the Badie Bridge was built in the late Song and early Yuan Dynasty and was built by Xie Youxian. It has a history of more than 700 years.
"Jiading Chicheng Chronicle", which is more than 50 years earlier than Xie Youxian, has "Badie Bridge, twenty-five miles west of the county". It can be seen that the founding date of the Badie Bridge was completed before the Baise Xie family moved in. But we can't get rid of it. Xie Youxian was relatively wealthy because he was prime minister. After living in Hedie, he once invested to rebuild the Badie Bridge. It is not impossible.
There is a stone tower at the west of the Badie Bridge. The stone tower is 3.8 meters high and consists of a base, a tower body and a tower brake. The base is a hexagonal Xumi seat, and above it is a six-sided column tower. On the east and west sides of the tower are embossed palace lamp designs, and the rest on all sides are embossed figures. From the figure's shape, it is the four kings of Buddhism. The second-level tower of the tower is swollen and hollow, with a gate on one side. The eaves on the second-level tower are made of wooden structures. There are five photo wheels, and the tower brake is a gourd-shaped treasure jar. [1]
