What is nanofactors?
nanofactors is a standard proposed application for molecular production of the first generation, also known as molecular nanotechnology. Molecular production is a futuristic technology that would use extensive fields of nano-level machine systems ("nanoassemblers") to synthesize MAKRO-MOCE products using a convergent assembly process. In the convergent assembly, the assembly line of the progressively larger manipulator arms assembles the product sub -components and passes it to the next stage of larger manipulator arms until the human product is created. Nanotechnology visionaries have long been afraid of the will of their proposed technologies based on fantasy science stories, such as Michael Crichton's "prey", which depicts "nanotechnology" as autonomous machines developing abilities. The concept of nanophactors provides a solid refutation of these disasters scenarios. Manipulator arms working on the molecular level could perform assembly operations very quickly, on the order of GHz (billions of times per second) rather than just Hz. Preliminary calculations indicate that nanofactors could process its own matter in just hours.
via advanced programming, nanofactors would allow the user to specify the composition of the product with atomic accuracy and open the huge new design space industry. Many of our current products suffer from weaknesses or imperfections because they are produced through "mass chemistry"; throwing billions or trillion atoms in a random way than creating products through an accurate atomic location. If nanofactors were successfully created, they could also be programmed to produce other nanofactors for the NáklaDy for nothing but raw materials and necessary programming.
