What is the plastination?

plasticism is a scientific process used to maintain an anatomy of a human or animal. In the plastic, water and fat in the body are replaced by plastic, causing the corpse to be virtually unable to decompose. It is a way to maintain and maintain the shape and appearance of the body and internal organs, which can be very valuable for medicine students, among other things. The body is then immersed in a liquid polymer, such as silicon rubber or polyester. Acetone in the body begins to cook and evaporate and is replaced by a plastic solution. The plastic can then be cured by UV radiation, gas or heat that solidifies the body into a solid shape. Initiaplastination was primarily used in medical laboratories and galleries, so students would have excellent visual examples of the anatomy of the human body. In 1993, however, von Hagens created an institution of plastination in Heidelberg, Germany. With the institute, he organized a public performance in Japan bodies, which underwent plastination. More than three million people participated in the event.

This event was a foregoing for another exhibition von Hagens, Body Worlds. In the Body Worlds exhibition, carefully preserved corpses without skin are displayed in different positions, many of whom represent as if they have been involved in normal activities. Although these plastic models can be for some morbid, many people consider the exhibition a great chance of studying the interior of the human body.

Today, plasticism is a common technique and an excellent tool for teachers. Students at secondary schools of secondary schools are often displayed by animal organs that have undergone the plastic process; Plasticination is also commonly used on animal animal samples for veterinary schools. Compared to the "plastic coating" of the past, samples that have undergone plastication are much more realistic and more resistant. Since von Hagens invention has proven to be valuable technology for education and protection.
