What Is a GPRS Network?
The GPRS network is based on the existing GSM network. In the existing GSM network, a node needs to be added, such as GGSN (Gateway GPRS Supporting Node) and SGSN (ServinGSN). GSN is the most important network node in the GPRS network. GSN has a mobile routing management function, which can connect to various types of data networks as well as GPRS registers. GSN can complete data transmission and format conversion between mobile stations and various data networks. The GSN can be a standalone device similar to a router or integrated with the MSC in GSM.
