What is a megaphone?
also known as Bullhorn, Blowhorn or Talking Tube, Megaphone is a pocket device that allows you to intensify the human voice by directing it in a specific direction. With a origin, which is often monitored until the 17th century, a traditional cone megaphone is built of light materials that allow the user to relatively keep Blowhorn in the mouth. Traditional and electronic versions of the device are commonly used today, often at sports and entertainment events, as well as in political gatherings. Criminal proceedings and some firefighters also often use Blowhorn as part of their emergency equipment.
The traditional megaphone is a simple design that is not burdened with any type of electronic gadgeter that helps to amplify the voice. These acoustic models rely on the shape and to select the materials to amplify the sound and direct the voice in the direction. The megaphone body is shaped as a cone, withby opening at the smaller end, which is held directly in front of the speaker mouth. The sound passes through the body of the device and appears at the larger end of the cone. The simple handle made it possible to use one hand to move the body to the device to the position. While the traditional Bullhhorns of this type were once made using metal components, many are now made using a combination of metal, plastic and even various types of wood fibers.
Acoustic megaphone has been the basis for many years with various types of stage productions, especially during the early 20th century. The performers of Vaudeville often relied on a megaphone as they sang a larger audience. The narrators and comics have also used the equipment for many years until microphone technology and installation of audio systems in clubs and theaters have become more common. Many politicians would unedto the type of sound trumpet in organizing outdoor rallys during campaigns, while police officers often used devices to communicate with suspects who barricaded in structure and refused to give upcoercive officials.
Over time, electronic technology was used to increase the function of the basic megaphone. The circuits inside the device allow users to edit the volume and voice modulation using the keyboard or set of switches located on the device side. Today, officials acting in criminal proceedings, politicians and others who use this type of sound amplified equipment will use the electronic version rather than a traditional acoustic megaphone. Older versions, however, are still commonly used during sports events at school events such as PEP gatherings and cheerleaders.
