What Is Materialism?

The fundamental point of materialism is to recognize that the essence of the world is matter, and that there is matter first in the world, and then consciousness. Matter determines consciousness, and consciousness is a reflection of matter. The fundamental view of idealism, contrary to materialism, is that the essence of the world is consciousness, not matter determines consciousness, but consciousness determines matter.
