What Does a Naval Architect Do?
The site of the Qing army and navy is a group of brick-wood buildings in the European classical style in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. It belongs to important modern and historic sites and representative buildings. It is located on the north side of Ping'an Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing, China. Courtyard (formerly Iron Lion Alley No. 1) (39 ° 5558.29 "north latitude, 116 ° 2431.68" east longitude), the building was built in 1906 (32 years of Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), and its predecessor was Qing Kangxi Emperor Jiuzi's House. The complex was designed by Shen Qi, a Chinese architect studying in the UK, and was constructed by the China Construction Plant. It was completed in 1907-1909 (the first year of Xuantong). The main building and three groups of buildings with different styles reflect the superb level of Chinese architectural design and construction in the early 20th century. The building complex was the highest military command system unit in the late Qing Dynasty. It was the seat of the government of Yuan Shikai and Duan Qirui during the Republic of China. It witnessed the "March 18" tragedy in front of the door in 1926, which has important historical value. In 1984, it was designated as a cultural relics protection unit in Beijing. In May 2006, it was designated as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council.
